Crema, January 31, 2024 – FastWay, FastWay continues its robust installation plan, as one of the leading independent Charge Point Operators (CPOs) in Italy in the high-power charging sector, with the inauguration of three ultra-fast stations in Crema. These new activations complement the 80 charging points installed during 2023, within just one year of operation, and are an integral part of the 250 new points planned for the first months of 2024, with nearly half of them located in Lombardy.
The three stations in Crema, strategically positioned at Via Pavese 4, the intersection of Via Crespi and Via Capergnanica, and Via Rossignoli 2, will offer a comprehensive, fast, and efficient solution for all citizens and tourists owning electric vehicles: each charging point has a total power of 120 kW and is equipped with two CCS2 sockets in direct current, allowing the state of charge of current Long Range vehicles to be brought from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
Paolo Esposto, founder of FastWay, expressed satisfaction at the inauguration: “We are delighted to announce the activation of these three new ultra-fast charging stations in Crema, part of our broader strategy to electrify the ‘Lombardia Est’ corridor in the Milan-Bergamo-Brescia-Cremona area, enabling all electric drivers to move and recharge quickly in territories that have so far lacked fast charging stations. We thank the municipality of Crema, with whom we have established a fruitful collaboration that has allowed us to complete the project in the city in record time.”
Franco Bordo, the Assessor for Environment and Mobility, added: “The Municipality of Crema strongly supports all initiatives, both public and private, aimed at strengthening sustainable and gentle mobility. We believe that only by promoting a plurality of actions within a coherent and articulated framework, which includes the introduction of measures to support private electric mobility, the provision of public services, the implementation of electric public transport, and the development of car sharing, can appreciable results be achieved in this area. The three new ultra-fast charging stations, installed by FastWay, which bring us to a total of 28 electric charging stations in our municipal territory, are precisely in this direction, positioning Crema at the national forefront for the diffusion of this type of infrastructure in relation to the number of inhabitants.”
The charging stations at Via Pavese and Via Crespi intersection with Via Capergnanica are already operational, while the one at Via Rossignoli will be activated in the coming days. All are accessible through smartphone apps from major charging service providers and feature a large monitor that provides usage instructions and detailed information on the ongoing charging session, ensuring a facilitated user experience. The monitor also serves to convey useful information to citizens and tourists, contributing to promoting greater awareness of the use of electric vehicles.
