Milan, January 18, 2024 – FastWay, an operator active in the public Fast and Ultra-Fast electric vehicle charging sector, supported by the Infrastructure for Growth – ESG fund managed by Azimut Libera Impresa SGR, celebrates its first year of activity with significant achievements and ambitious prospects for 2024.

The main milestone achieved in this first year is the installation of 80 charging points throughout Northern Italy, creating “corridors” that allow electric vehicle owners to move and recharge rapidly in areas that have so far lacked fast charging stations. The company has forged important collaborations with numerous Italian Public Administrations, signing agreements with over 50 municipalities, including Milan, Genoa, Novara, Vicenza, Biella, Asti, and most recently, Gorizia, which, through a public notice, selected FastWay as the first operator to manage the charging service in the city. Additionally, it has formed significant partnerships for the implementation of charging stations in public parking lots at private facilities (Ho.Re.Ca., GDO, Retail Parks), taking care of every phase of the process, from design to management.

Moreover, in the first months of 2024, FastWay will reach the goal of installing 250 new fast charging points, capable of charging current Long Range vehicles from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes, thus contributing to the development of electric mobility nationwide.

As commented by Carlo Mereu, Founder of FastWay: True to our company mantra ‘speed beyond charging’, we have swiftly established an extensive Fast Charging network, which will be further expanded in the early months of the year with 250 new points, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to provide increasingly advanced and accessible charging solutions and positioning ourselves as one of the leading independent Charge Point Operators in Italy in high-power charging.”

The company’s growth journey is further completed with the appointment of Gianluca Comin as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Comin, founder of Comin & Partners, one of the major players in strategic consulting in communication and institutional relations in Italy, brings a decade of experience in the energy sector, having led the External Relations Department of Italy’s largest energy utility.

Comin commented: “I am delighted to join FastWay at such a crucial moment for the development of electric mobility in Italy. I will dedicate my experience to further support the company’s growth journey towards the ambitious goals that await us in the coming years, contributing to the progress of electric mobility in our country. I thank the shareholders for inviting me to join them on this journey.”

“We are extremely proud to welcome Gianluca Comin to our team, confident that his vast experience and vision will give further impetus to FastWay’s development and will be fundamental pillars for the company’s future Mereu concludes
