Verolanuova, June 14, 2023 – FastWay, an independent operator in the development and management of high-power charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, inaugurates today its first charging station in the Municipality of Verolanuova (Brescia).

The charging station is located on Via Gerolamo Rovetta, near a shopping center and a short walk from the city center. It has a total power of 120 kW, is equipped with two CCS connectors for direct current, and can charge current Long Range vehicles from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes. The charging station can be used via smartphone apps from major charging service providers and is also equipped with a large monitor providing usage instructions and information on the ongoing charging session. Additionally, it can be used to convey information to citizens and tourists.

“This Fast charging station represents an important signal towards sustainable mobility and the use of renewable sources in respect of the environment. We hope that more and more citizens will choose electric vehicles, even though they are still evolving for greater autonomy. The quality of life in urban centers depends precisely on this conversion of means of transportation, which could give even more meaning to the urban regeneration of the existing fabric, in a logic of zero consumption of the territory. A sincere thanks to the operators who have implemented such an important service in a short time.” – comments Mr. Stefano Dotti, Mayor of Verolanuova.

“We are happy to start our activities by inaugurating the first installation in the Municipality of Verolanuova, which we sincerely thank for the excellent work done in recent months. For us operators, it is essential and of primary importance to collaborate with competent and punctual Administrations, and that of Verolanuova has represented a true paradigm of efficiency.” – explains Paolo Esposto, Founder of FastWay, who continues – “With this inauguration, Verolanuova symbolizes for FastWay the starting point of a large electrification project, initially in Northern Italy and then throughout the entire country, making 100% sustainable mobility accessible to all.”

The charging points in Verolanuova are part of a larger project that involves a series of installations of Fast stations, with a power range between 50 and 120 kW, along the “Lombardia Est” corridor in the Milan-Bergamo-Brescia-Cremona area: soon, several plants will be operational in the Municipalities of Azzano Mella (BS), San Gervasio Bresciano (BS), Castel Mella (BS), Pontevico (BS), Spirano (BG), and Crema (CR), with the aim of allowing all electric vehicle owners to move and recharge quickly in areas that have so far lacked fast charging stations.

In this initial development phase, the company is also committed to installing charging infrastructure along two other road corridors, the first between Milan, Lecco, and Sondrio and the second between Milan and Turin, as well as in large and medium-sized urban centers, with the aim of reaching 15,000 Fast and Ultra Fast charging points in the next 10 years.

FastWay carefully selects the most suitable sites for the installation of Fast and Ultrafast charging stations based on a proprietary quantitative model that identifies the need for charging services on a territorial basis. The stations are always integrated into contexts with one or more points of interest, such as restaurants, shops, supermarkets, cinemas, hotels, shopping centers, and sports facilities, allowing drivers to optimize the time needed for charging operations, thus becoming an attractor of new customers for the businesses themselves.
